bill of exchange for good performance; accommodation bill, accommodation draft, accommodation note, accommodation paper : In Iran, a promissory note signed out by one party and given to another as surety for the good performance of the former and to cover for his future liabilities. In English, an ‘accommodation paper’ – that is also termed accommodation bill and accommodation note – is a negotiable instrument that one party cosigns, without receiving any consideration in return, in order to act as surety for another party who remains primarily liable; such an instrument is typically used when the cosigner is more creditworthy than the principal debtor.
